With the 25th Bond film ‘Spectre’ hitting the screens as we type, it’s only fitting that we pay homage to the luxest of all nomads, Agent 007. Travelling to at least 49 destinations all but 146 times, the international man of mystery knows more about travelling in style than we do. Ever seen him waiting at baggage claim? Or dealing with double-bookings at hotels? Nope.
He does a whole bunch of other stuff too. Mainly saving the world and drinking martinis.
#1 The Time He Packed Like a Pro
Played by: Timothy Dalton in The Living Daylights (1987)
Most of us pack sunscreen and a beach towel for roadtrips, but Bond knows better. 007 unleashed a parachute when his car flew off a cliff at the Rock of Gibraltar on the Spanish-Gibraltarian border. Bonus: finding a boat to land into, where a beautiful brunette is sunbathing.
#2 When He Didn’t Get Fooled By Luxury Car Rentals
Played by: Daniel Craig in Casino Royale (2006)
While we’re used to seeing Bond cruise around in his Aston Martin, he (probably) said no to renting a luxury vehicle in favour of something more practical, seen here as the Ford Mondeo. But just so you know, he still likes his fast cars – ‘Spectre’ features an Aston Martin DB10 which was created especially for the film, and will roll out in limited production soon after.
#3 Powerbanks Are LOL Compared to His Gadgets
We talk a lot about tech travel essentials like our beloved kindle and iPhone, but the Apple stores are no match for Q Branch. Although we don’t foresee an occasion in Bali where a “swallowing sofa” would come in handy.
#4 The Time he Decided to Give Canada a Miss

We’re only kidding with this one! But it’s caught our attention and we just had to squeeze this one in for some laughs. 007 did get assigned to a case in Canada, but then requests for a change of destination to Nassau.

Parts of the movie were shot in Khao Phing Kan, northeast of Thailand in Phang Nga Bay. Since then, the island is famously known as the James Bond Island. Unfortunately we don’t have a Luxe Nomad villa there (just yet!), but we’re counting on it.
#6 When He Only Wanted to Stay at a 5-Star Hotel
Played by: Daniel Craig in Quantum of Solace (2008)
There’s no forgetting this scene: Bond gets booked a pretty lousy hotel in Bolivia, retorts with “So shoot me”, before walking about and booking himself a sweet stay at a luxury hotel nearby. Sound familiar?
#7 When He Didn’t Get to Enjoy His Cable-Car Ride
Played by: Roger Moore in Moonraker (1979)
Sometimes, disturbances are inevitable. A power-shortage in Bangkok, delayed flights… a villain attacking you as you’re in the middle of riding a cable-car to Pao de Acucuar in Rio de Janeiro.
#8 When He Needed Liquid Courage, Just Like Us

Ever needed a shot of tequila to let loose on vacation? Apparently 007 himself had a fear of heights, and resorted to moderate (keyword: moderate) drinking to calm his nerves before facing the heights at the Holy Trinity in Meteora, Greece.
#9 When He Knew A Great Local Restaurant
Played by: Timothy Dalton in The Living Daylights (1987)
There’s nothing like fighting off a couple of thugs to work up an appetite. After very narrowly escaping a crashing airplane in a jeep, 007 sees a sign heading out to Karachi. “I know a great restaurant in Karachi,” he says. Oh, so do we.
#10 All His Holiday Hook-Ups
Bad hook-ups, good hook-ups. Yup. Enough said. Best remember these strange sex laws that could get you arrested abroad!
