Paris Fashion Week has just started, and while it’s a must for every fashion-loving soul to visit the famed Chanel boutique on Rue Cambon or the very hip Colette store on rue Saint-Honoré on every visit to the City of Lights, there is also joy to be had with discovering new, underrated labels. So for those who are looking for some fresh fashion fix while in the French capital during #PFW, here are some labels to know (and wear) now before everyone else does!
#1 Jacquemus
Jacquemus may not be an entirely new name in the fashion game, but it is only of late that the five-year old label has been gaining the respect and attention of the fashion world. Aside from its highly controversial Autumn/Winter 2015 runway show in Paris, its founder Simon Porte Jacquemus has also won this year’s LVMH Prize special award, giving this label that much-needed thrust in order to take this young brand to the next level. #2 Vetements
Just like Jacquemus, Vetements is one of the new Parisian labels breathing new life into the fashion world by bringing that cool energy back into the runways with its daring and edgy designs. Founded by the Georgia-born, Paris based designer Demna Gvasalia, label considers CR Fashion Book’s Carine Roitfeld a fan, as well as Kanye West. Vetements is available on Net-a-Porter.
#3 G.Kero
G.Kero has been around since 2011. Founded by artist and fashion designer Marguerite Bartherotte, the label combines fashion and art through its graphic-designed handmade creations. With pieces spotted on the likes of Kate Moss, Lena Dunham, Cara Delevingne and Elle Fanning, we’re quite surprised the brand still hasn’t reached mainstream status. #4 LaContrie
People are calling this young leather goods shop as “the new Hermès.” Founded by Edwina de Charette de la Contrie produces beautifully-crafted leather products from their rue de la Sourdiere workshop in Paris. Each piece is handmade by Edwina and her artisans and you can also opt to have your item personalised. Parisian style icons Inès de la Fressange and Jeanne Damas have been seen wearing LaContrie pieces, and we’re pretty sure a lot more are about to follow suit.
