Take a long, long flight to the U.S and spend a few days eating some heavenly Cajun food — the bride-diet will start all too soon (sigh). New Orleans is like no other place we’ve ever been to, it’s as if you’re stepping back into the ghost of blues’ past. Music is a culture phenomenon and with bars that have names like The Spotted Cat, you know it’s going to be one jazzy night.

If the bride needs to chill, take her on a quiet getaway away from the touristy parts of Bali to Lombok. What we love about this beach destination is that it’s a ripe mix of spiritual India come party town. Make this your mantra: “What happens in Goa, stays in Goa”. Some even say it’s the hipster destination of Asia. Goa has 36 beaches in total, combined with rivers, hills, jungles, museums, nightclubs and architecture. To get in a wedding workout, rent bikes like tourists do and cycle down long roads by waterfalls all the way to the countryside.
#5 Macau
Bride personality: The one with no wedding budget
To be fair, we’d take a trip all the way to Vegas if money was no object, but Macau is well-worth a visit. It definitely comes in second to Bangkok for the title of Asia’s ‘sin city’. Casinos, all-night restaurants, chapels and architecture — there’s plenty to see and do in Macau, but good luck remembering all of it.
