Our WanderLuxe cover girl shares her top dining spots in Niseko.
Travel is the greatest reset — this is something Paula Taylor really believes in. The Thai-British actress and model who graces the cover of WanderLuxe’s current issue says that “travel energises her “ and she’s been circling the globe since moving to Perth at two weeks old.
Today, Taylor is living back in her soul city of Bangkok, but still often goes on spontaneous trips. She reveals that her main travel hack is to get local recommendations, as opposed to planning an itinerary around what is on the Internet. “The vibes are really important to me, and you don’t get that online,” she ruminates. “I would pick a vibe over something scenic, so find someone you know who knows the city well.”
A place she is confident enough to play host in? Niseko, where she has been time and time again over the last few years. Its powder snow and lively food scene are an exceptional draw for skiers, and Taylor is similarly smitten. And as the snow is softer and more forgiving, falls are not so harsh. She declares that the food is also what makes it an incredible destination. “In Europe, it’s all cheese and bread, which can get boring. In Japan, you can have ramen, fondue or anything you want, really. There is so much choice.”
Here are Paula Taylor’s top places to eat and drink in Niseko:
