Far from a sleepy beach town, Seminyak is buzzing with hipster cafes and nightlife. From all that ‘exploring’, coming home to paradise is where and when you’ll finally relax. If this sounds perfect to you, you’ll feel right at home at at Villa Adasa in Seminyak, Bali. Located in the exclusive Laksamana enclave, the gleaming Indian Ccean is just footsteps away.
Welcoming guests into their Balinese respite are cast bronze ‘mudra’ hands that adorn the handsome entrance door. More beautiful elements include the alang-alang (thatch) and ironwood shingle roofs, palimanan stone walls, Paras stone fountains and jewel-toned pillows for colour accents. Then there are twists to the Balinese charm at every turn, like Turkish rugs and fossiled stone stools.
The rooms: Make like a luxe nomad and call dibs on the spectacular master bedroom suite. It spreads out over the entire second level of the bedroom wing and has a king-size bed with a goosedown duvet. The polished teakwood floors are dressed with gorgeous Tibeten rugs. There is also a study area, reading corner and a wall of wardrobes. The view of Gunung Agung framed in the bathroom’s windows ups the ante.
The other two rooms are guest bedrooms that look out over the pool, and have glass doors that open onto the lawn. These two also come with king-size beds, or you could opt for twin beds instead. You’ll love the sandstone-lined bathroom with all the plants, making it look more like a secret indoor garden.
What to do:
- Chill out. Get a tan on the king-size daybeds outside by the 14-meter green-stone tiled-pool. Or, you can keep dry upstairs at the private roof deck.
- Throw a BBQ dinner. A must-do in any villa that comes with its own chef, request for a seafood dinner, put on some soft jazz — hello, Sonos music system — and enjoy the cool evening breeze by the bale.
- Be a nomad. Set out and explore the area; La Lucciola, Potato Head and Ku De Ta are a short walk away.
Nomad rating: 5/5
Most memorable: The two levels offer more privacy when you’re travelling with others — great for when the kids need their nap time.
We’d recommend it for: Small families. The villa lets you request for any items you’ll need for a safe, child-friendly vacation.
