Another tourist shot of Big Ben? No, thank you! The streets of London boast some incredible sights, from Hyde Park to street art . Your Instagram feed could do with these 10 artsy, brightly coloured shots that visually document the beautiful city of London.

#1 Hyde Park
We start our list with the most Instagrammed place of all, Hyde Park. It’s one of the most picturesque parks in the world with over 4,000 trees, a meadow, restaurants, gigs, The Serpentine Bridge, the Joy of Life fountain and the famous 18ft statue of Achilles. During the Christmas season there’s also ice skating.
#2 Madison St Pauls
And now, on to the second most Instagrammed place in London, the rooftop terrace of Madison St Pauls. Here you’ll get to capture the cathedral in the background of your pictures, but if you really want those likes, have a cocktail in hand as soon as the sun starts to set.
#3 God’s Own Junkyard
Could do with a weekend at Vegas? This art gallery has all the bright neon lights, and none of the debauchery. Artwork here comprises of vintage movie props to signboards (some R-Rated), all the wonderful creations of acclaimed neon artist Chris Bracey.
#4 Camden Town
Think Alice in Wonderland and a hint of Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory. Camden Town is filled with decorated shop fronts, food stalls and vibrantly coloured houses. The streets tend to get a bit busy so don’t stop too long to get a good shot!
#5 Berners Tavern
Berners Tavern serves great food, yes, but for that price, you’re also paying to be among fantastic (and very posh) interiors: a massive crystal chandelier, art-covered walls and ornate plaster ceilings.
#6 Shoreditch
Say what you will about hipsters, but there’s no downplaying the cool factor of Shoreditch’s street art. The walls are adorned with a fair blend of high-end installations and informal art, our favourite of which are the stick figures by Stik — apparently, his contributions turned his life around from being homeless.
#7 Sketch
Skip this one if you’re easily offended by an abundance of everything pink, but we strongly suggest you stomach it. You know, for the sake of a ‘gram. Located in Mayfair, this is the destination for food, art and music.
#8 Borough Market
Where food looks too tempting almost to a fault. If you don’t have that big of an appetite, you could always opt for fruit and vegan-friendly treats — they’re everywhere. And while you’re there, pick up some fresh flowers too.
#9 The Churchill Arms
On the outside, The Churchill Arms is a floral kingdom but on the inside, it’s a good place to get Thai food and beer. Come the festive season, the flowers are swapped for Christmas trees. The pub was built in 1750 and in the 1800s, was frequented by Winston Churchill’s grandparents — which eventually led to the naming of the pub after World War 2.
#10 Bob Bob Ricard
And finally, celebrate your amateur photography tour at Bob Bob Ricard in Soho, and raise your glass to the genius that decided to install ‘Press for Champagne’ buttons inside. Sure, their chocolate bombs are heavenly, but the stars, golden lighting and amber drinks align perfectly for that one, enviable shot.
