The #NiseCREW got plenty of love when they all travelled to Niseko, but for out It Girl Georgina Wilson, the trip marked something extra special: the cutest photo of baby Archie, the model’s first child with husband Arthur Burnand. Ski trips with a baby and your closest friends? Here’s how the week unfolded:

First up — how can parents make travelling with babies easier (or at least possible!)?
You’ve really got to prepare for the trip. Pre-packing everything and making sure that you’re travelling as light as possible is key.
So, did Niseko live up to the hype?
I heard about Niseko from a lot of friends, and the fact that I love skiing and Japan made me want to go there. I think it’s the best place to ski in Asia and it’s great how close is it is to home! That makes it a lot easier for families with kids.
What are a few things you should pack for a trip there?
Bring really warm clothes not just for skiing but indoors because it gets so cold at night! If you don’t have ski gear, Niseko is actually a really fun place to shop for ski and snowboarding gear so I wouldn’t worry.
Where’s a great place in Niseko?
There are so many amazing restaurants around but my favourite is Ezo Seafoods. That restaurant alone is worth flying to Niseko for.
What are your top 3 things to do in Niseko?
- Have a drink at Bar Gyu. They have a great selection of drinks, but you should head there early because it gets full fast!
- Soak in an onsen. An absolute must.
- Ride on a snowmobile. That’s just so much fun when you have a big group!
How was your stay at AYA Niseko?
I’ve been to Niseko before but staying at AYA Niseko was a completely different experience. It was so luxurious, so beautiful and the fact that it was a ski-in ski-out resort just made the whole experience so enjoyable. I don’t think I can ever stay in any other Niseko resort after that.
Would you recommend it for families with babies/children?
Absolutely! The staff were so sweet and set up a crib for Archie in our suite. Rooms there were huge and the fully-equipped kitchen made it easy to prepare milk bottles and such. There’s also a nursery and a day care center. I can’t wait to go back when Archie is old enough to ski — and they have ski lessons for babies right in front of the hotel!
