If you want a dining experience rather than just a quick bite to eat, head to Three Blue Ducks on the outskirts of Byron Bay. Located on a sprawling, 32 acre farm in the Byron hinterland, the restaurant takes paddock-to-plate dining to the next level. While everything on the menu is undoubtedly delicious, it’s hard to go past the steel cut oats with lemon myrtle yoghurt, banana, honeycomb, buckwheat, seeds, vanilla, mint and cacao.

Okay, so this one technically isn’t in Byron, it’s located in the neighbouring town of Newrybar. But it’s too good not to mention! Everything is created with fresh, local and organic ingredients and presented with Instagram-worthy flair. There are some really interesting combinations on the seasonal menu that shouldn’t work but totally do — like baked sweet potato, macadamia cheese and plum.

Top Shop is a favourite with locals and tourists alike — and it’s not hard to see why. The cafe has a relaxed, beach shack vibe and the menu has a great mix of healthy and more indulgent options. Their halloumi burger is an absolute must-try, as is their acai fruit bowl. They also have an extensive range of juices and smoothies: perfect for cooling down after a long day at the beach!
