This year’s Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants list is out! Surprise, surprise, modern Indian restaurant Gaggan took the number one spot for the fourth year running (congratulations Gaggan Anand and Rydo Anton). But if you’re looking for a slightly less predictable destination meal worth the miles and the calories, these are the reservations you need to make.
Toyo Eatery, Manila, Philippines
Winner of Miele One to Watch Award, Asia 2018
Led by chef Jordy Navarra (who trained at The Fat Duck), Toyo Eatery champions traditional Filipino cuisine – with a major, modern twist, of course. Dishes are inspired by Filipino street food, nursery rhymes, traditions and produce. Try the three-cut pork BBQ silog while sharing a communal table in a restaurant that is the very definition of a modern eatery – exciting, inventive, and never stuffy.
