The vibe
If Baba Beach Club Phuket is the party animal, Baba Beach Club Hua Hin by Sri Panwa is its chill, jazz-loving sister. The Hua Hin resort, located north of the Gulf of Thailand, boasts the same “music hotel” spirit, so music can be heard from everywhere in the hotel, even from your suite or villa.
The room
We stayed in the 1-bedroom Beachfront Pool Suite on the 3rd floor, which provided amazing ocean views from the bed and private pool. As far as first impressions go, the space was very elegant and smelled amazing (there was always a fresh peppermint aroma, which was nice). The photos you see here actually do the room justice!
Baba Beach Club Hua Hin
The bathroom, one of our favourite features of the suite, has a huge bathtub that fits two and a rainshower we almost didn’t want to get out of.
Another favourite spot of ours was the little pool patio, where you can lounge and have morning tea, or enjoy the sunrise – our suite faces east. The suite is only a 73sqm space, but thanks to cleverly placed mirrors and how the bedroom opens up to the coast, it felt like more than enough space for two. And besides, we were here to spend lots of time at the restaurant, bar and beach!
Food & Drink
We enjoyed a big spread of authentic Thai food and Western cuisine at Baba Beach Restaurant, where everything was delicious. There are many pork dishes, so it’s definitely not halal, though most dietary requirements can be met. Breakfasts are complimentary for guests, and you’ll find your usual breakfast suspects: a continental spread, plus a number of Thai signature dishes.
The town centre is a 20-minute drive from the resort, but we decided to stay in the whole time, so we had meals at Baba Beach Restaurant. Some of the dishes we loved were the green curry chicken and Jungle Pork. For both, the heat can be adjusted to taste using a cheeky scale system: Euro Spicy, Thai Spicy and Extra Spicy (we went for Thai Spicy).
You won’t find draft beers at the bar – it’s bottles only – but the cocktails are really good. If you have to pick one, we suggest the Lycheetini, the best of the lot, in our opinion.
The service
We requested for an early check-in at Baba Beach Club Hua Hin and when we got there, the front desk was busy with guests checking out. However, we were quickly escorted to Baba Beach Bar for refreshments while we waited for our paperwork and room keys. The concierge team was attentive and helpful despite the kerfuffle, and always greeted us with a smile. The waiters at the restaurant also remembered our special dietary requirements and gave us recommendations when we ordered meals.
Our favourite part
The fact that Baba Beach Club Hua Hin is a great place for a stay-in holiday. We acquainted ourselves with the bar menu (living our best lives!) and just indulged in doing nothing – a luxury in itself.
