If you’ve been following us for some time, you might remember that in May last year, The Luxe Nomad fundraised USD 5,600 for a Seabin – a floating bin that sits in the seas collecting rubbish, but not fish.
In honour of World Ocean Day, and a year of it being in the water, we thought we’d give you a little update on the Seabin you, our The Luxe Nomad tribe, helped us purchase and how it has been helping to save the seas.

The Seabin sits in the waters of the Aberdeen Marina Club in Hong Kong. Since its installation it has collected, on average, 160.53kg of rubbish per month. Over the year, it has rid the waters of 1,926.36kg of debris.
That’s perfectly in line with our early projections of 1.9 tonnes of waste per year!

We recognise that it is not a lot, but every little bit helps, and we’re working to implement more practices to keep plastic out of our villas and our oceans. As well, we’re still looking to collaborate with individuals and companies to get more Seabins in the water and trash out. If you know anyone who might be interested in working with us, please get in touch!
