It’s the hottest (literally) time to be in Bali. This month you’ll get the best weather, the most happening parties and a line-up of one-time-only events that you can’t afford to miss. Get your diaries at the ready, we’ve got your plans sorted for the rest of August.
#1 Have the best dinner of your life
Ungasan – in things to do in Bali
Where: The Ungasan Clifftop Resort
When: 23 August 2018
Why: Celebrity chef James Viles from renowned Australian restaurant Biota is spearheading a one-night-only fine dining event at The Dinner Series. Only 30 guests will be able to experience this intimate dinner, which will be held in one of The Ungasan’s luxurious 5-bedroom villas. While they feast on a menu crafted with Bali’s rich landscape in mind, guests will hear from Chef James himself about sustainable practices in the culinary industry. Who can say no to a beautiful dinner with clifftop views of the Indian Ocean?

#2 Immerse yourself in culture
Where: Sanur Village Festival at Pantai Matahari Terbit, Sanur
When: 22 – 26 August 2018
Why: Indonesian art, sports, music and cuisine all come together at the family-friendly Sanur Village Festival, where one of the most popular key events is the International Kite Festival. We don’t have to tell you how amazing that’s going to look in photographs.
#3 Dance your heart out
Why: It’s August! You know what that means – Bali is in full swing with parties and music festivals. Singers and DJs fly in from all over the world to entertain an international crowd. The ones to check out are Ku De Ta’s Day Party on 5 August and White Party on 18 August. And even if you’re unavailable on those dates, you can soak up the Bali party scene at the many beachclubs in Bali. (UPDATE: Sunny Side Up Presents at Potato Head Beach Club on 12 August has been cancelled. American singer Halsey was slated to perform, but according to the website, her show will be rescheduled to another date.)

#4 Tour Bali, Crazy Rich Asians style
Why: Incidentally, August is also when the highly anticipated movie Crazy Rich Asians premieres in cinemas. From what co-stars Henry Golding and Harry Shum Jr. told us, it looked like they had a great time in Bali – Harry said that staying at the secluded Ungasan was like having your own resort! Take it from them; no better way to do Bali than the Crazy Rich Asians way.
#5 Wind down
Where: Revivo Wellness Resorts
When: Every Saturday and Sunday in August 2018
Why: In case you’re not up for the party or festival life in Bali (or just need to wind down afterwards), you could enjoy a quick cleanse and detox at Revivo Wellness Resorts’ limited-time-only weekend retreats.
