You’ve got an amazing vacation wardrobe! How would you describe your style?
Simple, I normally choose a colour palette for the trip so that most things work together, and it also means I can take fewer shoes and bags.
What’s your favourite travel destination?
The Maldives! I love the blue and turquoise colours of the water. But if you want to shop, you’ll enjoy the fashion in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam, where there are lots of small local brands with great pieces.
When on vacation, you should always…
Eat everything. And try everything too, because you never know what you’ll like when there’s a whole cuisine you’ve yet to taste.
How was your stay at PARKROYAL on Pickering in Singapore?
The architecture of PARKROYAL on Pickering is truly amazing. Their unique “hotel-in-a-garden” concept means there are lush gardens, waterfalls, and planter walls everywhere you look. It actually reminded me of Bali’s rice paddies! To get to my room I would walk through hallways adorned in vertical gardens which really added to the tropical atmosphere.
We stayed in a suite that had great views across the city, and that was so stunning. I loved the organic products in the room, as well as the huge windows that let in lots of natural light. The staff was also very helpful and efficient — just what makes a great hotel in the city.
What were some great places you went to in the city?
I loved the look of P.S Cafe for photos and food, Huen’s Diamond in Far East Plaza for jewellery, and actually, the Breadtalk bakeries! I definitely recommend checking out Chinatown and Arab Street for anyone visiting Singapore.
Next, you travelled to Ho Chi Minh in Vietnam. How was your trip?
Loved it! The Ben Tanh Market was a good place to explore, and as Vietnam is famous for great tailor-made clothes and bags, I found these two places: Tricia & Verona, and Kim Phuong Embroidery for linens.
What did you think of your stay at Fusion Suites Saigon?
Our suite was very modern and fresh in a fast-changing city. I found it great to have floor-to-ceiling windows, and the rooftop bar was lovely. Being able to walk to town and the market was nice!
And then you travelled to Da Nang in Vietnam, too.
We stayed at Fusion Maia Da Nang! It always feels luxurious to have your own pool. The view throughout the resort right down to the beach was showstopping. Two things I really liked were the food, and the complimentary shuffle service to Hoi An.
How was Fusion Maia Da Nang and what did you think of your suite?
It always feels so luxurious to have your own pool, the view through the resort and down to the beach is also showstopping. I loved the food and the shuffle service into Hoi An.
What would traveller enjoy most about Vietnam?
I would say walking through the market, staying till sundown to enjoy the town lights and lanterns across the Saigon river. If you want to visit Da Nang, travel there in March for the Fireworks Festival.
So, where to next?
I’ve always wanted to visit Australia, Bora Bora, the American Prarie, and see the Northern Lights.
