The vibe
We loved COMO Uma Canggu’s minimalist chic and contemporary design. The property uses a lot of white all across the lobby, the adjoining restaurant, Glow, and spa centre COMO Shambhala. The white makes for a wonderfully serene, and soothing environment – the kind where you just want to nestle in and relax. We were given cold towels and welcome drinks while we checked in, and the team was very friendly and professional.
The room
We stayed in a one-bedroom residence, which was ultra modern and brand new. The space functions just like an apartment, with areas carved out for a variety of different activities. The residence was fantastic for us, as we loved feeling like we were almost at home. Our favourite part was that the room was full of natural light throughout the day, thanks to the open nature of the architecture.
Top marks for the very comfortable bed, and the amazing jacuzzi!
Food & drink
We had breakfast every day at COMO Beach Club. The food at the Beach Club was undoubtedly one of the best parts about staying here, so we made full use of our access and sampled everything. The food was truly excellent, with a wide-ranging menu and a focus on great, fresh local ingredients.

After breakfast, we spent a whole lot of time by the 110-metre long lagoon pool – can you blame us? It’s stunning and the drinks are amazing. If you don’t want to spend all your time in the sun, there’s also yoga, surfing lessons and spa time available.
Wellness
The COMO Shambhala Retreat is famous. At COMO Uma Canggu there are eight treatment rooms with a focus on hands-on healing and holistic treatments. There are massages and facials, of course, but there are also daily wellbeing classes such as yoga and Pilates. The service at the spa is absolutely impeccable.
Then there’s the gym, a beautiful, modern space that is also open to the public. Floor-to-ceiling windows mean it’s full of natural light, and is well-equipped with machines, TRX© Suspension Training and CrossFit stations. Plus, there are personal trainers, if you need them.
Our favourite part
How to choose? We loved the huge swimming pool, and our room was so comfortable and pleasant. Plus, there’s a jacuzzi with a salt bath!
COMO Beach Club was a standout experience – even if you’re not staying there, it’s a must-do. Those not staying at COMO have to spend a minimum of IDR500,000 to dine in.
