The vibe
‘Exclusive’ is definitely a suitable one-word summary of our stay at V Villas Hua Hin, MGallery by Sofitel. We started our getaway at this beachfront resort in the Gulf of Thailand with a warm welcome and smooth check-in process. As far as first impressions go, a drink and cold towels are always welcome to a tired traveller.
The room
Our assigned butler, Khun Anna showed us to our One Bedroom Pool Villa, which is perfect for couples. Future honeymooners, put this on your list! It has a private pool with a Jacuzzi – there’s another one indoors – and because V Villas knows that Instagram opportunities are abundant here, they provide giant pool floats for our use. The bedroom itself is as lovely as you see it in pictures, but the luxe factor is upped by Hermès bathroom amenities and an OPI nail polish kit. We didn’t bother packing our own, and were glad for a little manicure touch up!

In terms what there is to do while you’re there – other than feasting, more on that later – you should know that V Villas Hua Hin is close to other restaurants, convenient stores and the famous Cicada Market, which we really loved. It’s a family-friendly place with a myriad of stalls selling souvenirs and food, and there are music performances to entertain the crowd.
Food & drink
Breakfast at Villazzo Restaurant & Bar was always something we looked forward to during our stay. The Champagne Breakfast buffet offered a variety of cuisine – western, Chinese, Japanese, Thai – for us to start our day with. For one of our a la carte meals, we ordered the delicious pad Thai and chicken green curry, which we haven’t stopped raving to friends about.
There was also the daily afternoon tea that we enjoyed in the privacy of our villa: yummy little pastries filled up a tiered tray, which looked really lovely in photos.
The service
Good service shouldn’t be hard to find these days, but we have to pay extra compliments to Khun Anna for being super attentive during our stay. We were able to reach her directly on her mobile phone for absolutely anything, and our needs were always met promptly. We even received a nice surprise from Resident Manager Khun Kai, who gave us a complimentary bottle of bubbly to celebrate… well, to celebrate a much-needed holiday!
Wellness
We know one too many people who don’t indulge in spa treatments during holidays, and we think it’s a wasted experience, especially if you don’t book one at V Spa. The signature 90-minute V Balancing Massage was definitely one of the best treatments we’ve ever had. You can request for in-villa service, but we wanted that proper spa vibe – dimmed lights, calming music, refreshing lemongrass scent and all. For fitness buffs, there’s also a free morning yoga session that all guests are welcome to participate in.
Our favourite part
Privacy, privacy, privacy! Every villa is a little haven of sorts for its respective guests, so if you’re feeling particularly at home, you could even go naked within the confines of your villa if you’re planning to perfect that head-to-toe holiday tan. Don’t say we didn’t tip you off!
