Where to Be
The beaches of Taling Ngam, Lamai, Lipa Noi, Maenam, Choeng Mon and generally more relaxed areas are great for just strolling around or spending time with the kids before they wear themselves out. Book dinner at a restaurant near your villa and relax.
When we say book it, we mean it. A lot of restaurants in quiet areas of Samui will close down for the evening (lots of them host parties for their staff).
Find the Best Fireworks
Where to Be
Very simply, find a big beach. Where the beaches are bigger and more popular, the firework shows are going to be greater and more vibrant. If you want to spot the biggest fireworks in town, head to Chaweng (pending you don’t mind the party scene). Otherwise, Bophut, Lamai, Maenam and Choeng Mon beaches are good places to go. Of that grouping, Bophut is most likely have the grandest show.

Safety Issue to Be Aware of
In Samui, fireworks are not difficult for the ordinary individual to get their hands on. Be aware of where you are and those around you at all times. You should be ready to move to a safe distance should you notice anything a bit off.
As well, there are several websites currently promoting fake New Year’s Eve events in Koh Samui. Be careful when purchasing tickets from a 3rd-party.
