As the racetrack heats up for the Singapore Grand Prix, here are some highly recommended places to visit and shop at during F1 week in the Lion city! If you haven’t got your rooms booked yet, why not check some of our offerings here?
Staring at F1 cars with your mouth open invariably make you thirsty, but even though the race is at night, Singapore’s hot and humid climate will probable only drive your hankering for a cold drink. For some alcoholic thirst quenchers in bars to see and be seen, head to 1-Altitude at One Raffles Place (the highest open rooftop bar in the world), or to the Singaporean branch of the famed Balinese bar, KU DÉ TA at the Marina Bay Sands. Lantern at Fullerton Bay Hotel also comes highly recommended.
Looking to feed the beast? A recent rash of top-class Singaporean restaurants won’t leave you wanting. Head to &MADE, the brainchild of 3 star Michelin chef, Bruno Ménard, and restaurateur Oliver Bendel, or book a table at 81 Duxton for some highly recommended Wagyu steak. If you’re feeling like exceptional Spanish fare, Catalunya is the order of the day.
If you’re looking for some highly touted jewellery, Carrie K.‘s silver and gold pieces can be found at 136 Bukit Timah (by appointment only). Internationally recognised Choo Yilin is a modern choice that shows hints of its Asian heritage by drawing from Chinese and Asian motifs in its designs. For jewellery with a conscience, Edge of Ember and Saught are two Singaporean labels that collaborates with Cambodian artisans and helps them with their livelihoods.
