Say konnichiwa (or ohaiyo gozaimasu or konbanwa, depending on what time it is) to the world’s most powerful passport. Japan has jumped from 5th place last year to become number one in the 2018 Henley Passport Index.
Singapore jumped up to 2nd place from 4th, while Germany, which maintained a no.1 streak for four years, dropped to 3rd place. The Henley Passport Index ranks all the passports in the world according to how many countries their holders can visit without a visa. Japan was recently granted visa-free access to Myanmar, bumping it up to 190 countries that can be visited without a visa.
