#1 Update your (wildlife) travel list
Based on the 2019 Global Wildlife Travel Index, Finland is the best destination for wildlife travel in the world. The country has no less than 39 national parks, and has forest areas covering 73.1% of its land! The index analyses a variety of factors including wildlife biodiversity, the prevalence of national parks, conservation efforts, and protected natural areas with increasing focus on environmental sustainability that appeal to the eco-conscious traveller.
#2 When the extra mile is just too extra
Hollywood would have us believing that airports have two purposes: grand romantic gestures, and sometimes travelling too. We’re not sure how far you’ll get in a small domestic airport in the middle of nowhere, but in Singapore, you’ll go all the way… to jail. The police arrested a 27-year-old man last month for buying a plane ticket just so he could walk his wife to the gate and say good-bye to her.

#3 Where no man has gone, yet
“Eventually, going to space will just be another option people will pick for their vacation, just like going on a cruise, or going to Disney World,” Tim Alatorre, the senior design architect for the Von Braun Rotating Space Station. The very first commercial space station ever, is due to be completed in 2025! You will soon be able to venture on a space “cruise” where you’ll be able to partake in low-gravity basketball, attend musical concerts, and party like you’re on Star Trek.

Miniature horses are an increasingly popular alternative service animal for people who have disabilities. Abrea Hensley took her 27-inch miniature mare, Flirty, on its first flight ever from Omaha, Nebraska to Chicago, Illinois on American Airlines. Hensley did note there was a bit of a learning curve on how to ensure Flirty was comfortable and to keep her out of the way for other passengers, but for the most part, the biggest difficulty was keeping her balance in-flight.
