Why don’t you tell our readers a little bit about yourself?
HENDRA: Hi, my name is Made Hendra Dwipayana but you can call me Hendra. I am 34 years old, and I’ve been working in tourism for almost 12 years. I started out as a restaurant waiter and bartender in a hotel in Bali, then became a butler. After 4 years, I got promoted to Villa Supervisor and later on, Assistant Villa Manager. Now, I am trusted by the management of The Luxe Nomad to take care of Villa Mary as Villa Manager.
How long have you worked for the Luxe Nomad?
HENDRA: I have worked with The Luxe Nomad management for 2 years. Before managing Villa Mary, I was an Assistant Villa Manager in one of the villas managed by The Luxe Nomad.
What do you love doing on your days off?
HENDRA: My hobbies are working and cycling. When I cycle, I also look for new tourist attractions that I can recommend to guests who ask about where to go and what to do while in Bali.
Can you give us a few fun facts about yourself?
HENDRA: I am always humble and I enjoy hanging out with new people. I like exchanging ideas with friends not just to socialize, but also to improve business. I always prioritize teamwork and maintain communication to avoid misunderstandings.

What do you love most about being a Villa Manager?
HENDRA: This was my first time to be a Villa Manager and even though it brought new challenges in my life, I look forward to experiences that help me improve and be better.
What are the challenges of the role and how do you overcome them?
HENDRA: Villa Mary is very large and the old villa building needs extra care. The first challenge was learning how to manage employees to do their jobs, and the second was maintaining the villa so that it always looks clean and beautiful. To overcome this, the villa staff and I work closely together every day to deep clean the villa, take care of the garden, and plant new plants so that the villa looks beautiful.
Can you share one memorable moment from the job?
HENDRA: An unforgettable moment was when I worked with a very solid villa team who always helps each other.

What are you most excited about managing Villa Mary?
HENDRA: Villa Mary is the largest villa in the beach area of the Pantai Lima Estate. [It came with] new challenges for me as a Villa Manager, but I’ve also learned a lot of new lessons. That’s why I’m excited to work at Villa Mary, I like trying new things that challenge me to be better.
