The basics
Villa Tantangan is a 3-bedroom beauty that has a 20m pool, 3 bathrooms and a big garden to run around in. It sleeps up to 6 people.
Who it’s for
Villa Tantangan is great for families or small groups who love Bali sunsets and black sand beaches. It is also suitable for events or weddings. Just think of the kind of backdrop you’ll get in the garden!

Location
Two words: clifftop, beachfront. Perched on a cliff 15m above sea level, the villa overlooks Bali’s black sand coast and the Indian Ocean. You have the 8,200-square-metre plot all to yourself, as it is at least a 10-minute drive through rice fields from the nearby village of Beraban, 45 minutes by car to Seminyak, and 60 minutes to Ngurah Rai International Airport.

The best bits
We love a good soak in the pool on a hot day. In Bali, that’s almost always the case, so feel free to be a pool bum until bedtime – the place is all yours! With panoramic views of the ocean that you get from the garden, which was designed by renowned landscape artist John Pettigrew, we see the appeal of staying outdoors. But let’s step inside for a bit; you’ll find plenty to love there, too.
When it’s time to get together, stretch out in the living area or TV lounge, equipped with Sonos sound system, DVD player and iPod dock. Every space in the villa is built to let in a lot of natural light and fresh air, so one, pictures are always going to look great and two, what’s the point of a Bali vacation if you’re not going to take in the sea breeze?
When you do want a bit of privacy in your home away from home, adjourn to the separate bedroom pavilions, which boast four-poster beds and views of the garden just outside. Set loose the #bedroomgoals hashtag.
Tantangan bedrooms
Another thing we love about Villa Tantangan is the fact that it’s a ‘green’ villa; it uses solar panels to reduce energy consumption. In the bathrooms, you’ll find the full collection of The Luxe Nomad’s exclusive bath and body products, which are paraben-free.
Food & Drink
The villa comes with a fully-equipped kitchen and a dining room that fits 8 guests. Complimentary breakfast is served daily, and for the rest of the day you have the option of either going out to eat or having a chef prepare your meals in the villa (the cost of groceries plus a 10% handling fee is charged separately).
Things to do nearby
Somewhere on the villa grounds, there’s a doorway with a distinct Balinese design that opens up to Nyanyi Beach. It’s pretty quiet, so it’s almost like you have your own private beach, too. By car, Tanah Lot Temple is a 20-minute drive from Villa Tantangan. There’s also Pantai Melasti to look out for; it’s a black-sand beach with interesting rock formations (bring your cameras!).
